Howth School of Fish welcomes the national and international travel trade to our website, and we hope to meet you in person at our school in Howth, County Dublin.

Sean Doran, whose family have been involved in the fishing industry in Howth for 60 years, established Howth School of Fish in 2019.  This is a social tourism enterprise with objectives to keep the Howth fishing culture alive through education and local employment while providing and immersive visitor experience where tourists will feel part of the local fishing community.

Our team aims to create deep connections between visitors and the local fishing community   Blessed with beautiful seaside surroundings, Howth is a working fishing harbour, giving our visitors real world experience and demonstrations of the Irish Fishing industry.  Howth is part of the Dublin Bay UNESCO Biosphere, and our mission is to share this beauty, leave no trace and where possible involve our staff, friends and visitors in ocean regeneration.

What’s included?

Our experiences are aimed at the Ultralux market and our hands on approach means that the ratio of tutors to guests is high for a personalised experience.

Experiences are created from a selection of one-hour modules.  We are not preachy in our approach.  From the outset guests are invited to participate and ask questions and we often find that the guests guide the direction of the talks depending on their particular areas of interest.

Prices

Our prices start at €90 per person for the Deckhand 3 hour course, with a net price of €78.75 to travel trade managers.

To avail of travel trade net rates, your business must be a member of a professional travel trade body in Ireland or your own country.
